New staff performing Check-in and Check-out functions may also be required to take copays (in which case they should take the Cadence Cash Drawer Online course).

Training Login Sheets: Cadence Referrals

Class length: 4 hours

Prerequisites: Scheduling 1 (Note: Scheduling 2 is also recommended.)

Registration: Email epictrainingrequests@healthcare.uiowa.edu. Please specify staff workflows so we can be sure the training is beneficial.

Roles: Schedulers and front desk staff who work with referrals.

Content: Referral Entry, Referrals/Authorization Ready to Sched workqueues (scheduling statuses, assigning to users, and workqueue efficiency tips), communicating with triage staff, assigning referrals, scheduling referrals, and closing referrals.

Class length: 3 hours

Prerequisites: Patient Access (Note: Scheduling 1 is required if staff will be scheduling from referrals as well.)

Roles: Department staff who work with referrals and prior authorizations.

Content: Patient Workqueues, Referral Entry, Referrals/Authorization Workqueues, documenting communications with insurance companies, documenting service-level coverage authorizations.
