CADENCE INTRO TO REFERRALS
Class length: 4 hours
Prerequisites: If attending for Scheduling purposes, Scheduling 1 is required; if attending for Prior Auth only, no pre-requisites are needed.
Registration: Online through ERMA Search for: Referrals
Roles: Schedulers and front desk staff who work with referrals and/or department staff who work with referrals and prior authorizations.
Content: Referral Entry, Patient & Referral/Authorization workqueues, documenting communication and other details in a referral record, closing referrals.
- Scheduling-Focused Content: Communicating with triage staff, assigning referrals, scheduling referrals, and closing referrals.
- Prior Authorization-Focused Content: Documenting communications with insurance companies, documenting service-level coverage authorizations.
