What needs to be done before registering new staff for Epic training?

The following steps are necessary before registering staff for Epic training. If any of the following steps are not done or are in process, then online registration may not be possible and there may be delays with providing the necessary Epic security following training. 

  • Staff member needs to have an active HR appointment. 
  • After the appointment has been created, the supervisor will need to complete a request for a New Healthcare Account. 
    • CLICK HERE to access the Enterprise Service Center portal.
    • Choose the Need Something category and log in, if necessary.
    • Then choose the New/Transfer Healthcare Acct option. The form will look like THIS.
    • When completing the form, make sure to check the box next to "Does the user need Epic access?" 
  • Some staff positions require the completion of an Exception Form, for instance Volunteers, Researchers, Practicum Students, and Corrections Officers. To determine if a position requires an Exception FormCLICK HERE to open the Job Codes list for review. The form is reviewed by the hospital’s information security officer.

The previous steps are all that is necessary to pursue View Only (or read only) access for staff who do not need to document in Epic. View Only training is provided through self-paced introductory video tutorials.
