- ED PAR - Arriving a Patient on Leave of Absence from Psych - (Handout) Patients on leave of absence from psych units foremergency medical care will have a unique question upon arrival that needs to be addressed.
- Psych Leave of Absence for Labor and Delivery - (Handout) When an admitted patient in the UIHC Psych Hospital needs to go to Labor & Delivery, Leave of Absence (LOA) provides the ability to pause the patient’s Psych admission and subsequently resume that admission at a later time, without discharging and readmitting the patient. This process only applies to admitted UIHC Psych Hospital patients going to Labor & Delivery.
- Psych Leave of Absence for BHS Nursing Staff - (Handout) When a patient in the UIHC Psych Hospital needs to go to the Emergency Department or Labor & Delivery, Leave of Absence (LOA) provides the ability to pause the patient’s Psych admission and subsequently resume that admission at a later time, without discharging and readmitting the patient. This process only applies to admitted UIHC Psych Hospital patients going to the UIHC ED or L&D areas.

This process only applies to admitted UIHC Psych Hospital patients going to the Emergency Department.
- Return to Psych after Psych Leave of Absence (LOA) - (Handout) When an admitted patient in the UIHC Psych Hospital needs to go to the Emergency Department or Labor & Delivery, Leave of Absence (LOA) provides the ability to pause the patient’s Psych admission and subsequently resume that admission later, without discharging and readmitting the patient. Once the patient has been returned on the Unit Manager, the Psych Provider will need to restart the patient’s orders. If the patient will not be return to Psychiatry, the patient needs to be discharged from their psychiatric admission.
