Enables users to quickly ascertain the status and progress of surgeries in one or more operating rooms. Row colors are used to indicate a specific procedural status.

The following resources provide information on Status Board functionality.

• Cardiovascular Cases - Tracking Events - (Handout) How and when to log Events during Cardiovascular Procedures. Events help with the tracking of lab utilization and appropriately documenting intervals between critical points during a case.

• Print Patient Labels in Epic - (Handout) Printing patient Labels and Patient ID Band barcodes from various locations within the electronic medical record.

• Status Board Icons and Descriptions - (Handout) A listing of Status board Icons and their descriptions.

• Viewing OR Patients’ Destination Unit/Room/Bed - (Handout) Patient belongings are sometimes left in perioperative areas as patients are moved through surgery prep, procedure, and recovery. In order to easily return those belongings, transport staff must be able to quickly find the destination location for patients (those that will stay at UIHC for recovery). The Status Board activity is best for finding this information quickly.
