The UIHC Scribe Compliance Policy defines a scribe as support staff who transcribes in the electronic medical record (EMR/paper documentation) as dictated by the Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP). A scribe may use a number of Epic activities in order to assist the LIP including the Problem List, Meds and Orders, and Notes.

To assure that information in the health record, including the provider of the service and the individual who created the documentation, is documented clearly and appropriately.
