Patient reports are available in a number of locations throughout Epic. You have access to a variety of reports to help you view patient-specific information quickly within the same reporting activity. Use the resources on this page to learn how to access additional reports or get more information on specific reports.

The following resources provide information on Patient Reports functionality.

  • Patient Reports (VIEW302) - (Video: 5 min) Instructions for locating and using Patient Reports, as well as customizing Patient Reports toolbar.

  • Use the Patient Station to Find the AVS from a Prior Encounter - (Handout) At the end of an IP (inpatient) or OP (outpatient) encounter, Epic creates a static copy of the After Visit Summary (AVS). To view the Static AVS from a prior encounter, use the Patient Station report pane as a shortcut.

  • PREP Checklist Report - (Handout) The PREP (Patient Readiness Exit Plan) Checklist Report, which displays progression of key aspects of patient discharge, will help decrease potentially preventable readmissions, facilitate Discharge Huddles, initiate discharge conversations starting at admissions, and improve the overall discharge process for patients and staff, use .

  • Customizing Your Patient Reports Toolbar - (Handout) Many activities contain customizable patient report toolbars. Learn how to customize these toolbars to include the reports useful to you.

  • Dialysis CROWNWeb Abstraction Report - (Handout) A report is now available within Epic to facilitate the sending and receiving of data to and from CROWNWeb.

  • Set a Default Report for Your My List - (Handout) In addition to customizing the report toolbar in the Patient Lists activity, a default report may be set for a specific My List.

  • Inpatient Ticket to Ride - (Handout) When a patient is transferred or transported from one patient care or procedure area to another, the Ticket To Ride report needs to accompany the patient. Its purpose is to provide critical data in a manual format for employee to employee handoff. It provides basic information about a patient in case of emergency.

  • Epic Overview Snapshot Report - (Handout) For efficient rounding on in-patients, try using the Overview Report in the Summary Activity. Some services have optimized an Overview report specific to their specialty (i.e., Urology, Ortho, and Surgery).
