Beaker is Epic's clinical laboratory application and supports inpatient and ambulatory laboratory workflows. The Beaker Lab Collection process involves specimen specific labels printed real time at the point of care.

Beaker Clinical Pathology

  • Beaker CP - Collecting Specimens for Lab Staff - (Handout) Collecting specimens is the second step in the process for completing lab orders, and occurs once a lab test order is placed. Once collected, the specimen is then sent off to the laboratory to be resulted. Lab Techs and Phlebotomists collect these labs using the Order Inquiry activity.
