The BCA (Business Continuity Access) Web application provides access to a limited amount of Epic data through a web interface. During planned or unplanned Epic downtimes, a BCA Administrator in HCIS can set the BCA Web application to Edit Data mode, allowing users in the Admission and Transfer Center and Emergency Department to document admission, discharge and transfer events online.

  • Document ADT Events During a Downtime Using BCA Web Data Entry (GC080) - (eLearning: 6.5 min) This eLearning provides instructions for using the BCA Web application in Data Entry mode to admit, discharge and transfer patients during an Epic downtime.

  • BCA Web Read Only - (Handout) The default mode for the BCA Web application is read only. A limited amount of Epic information can be retrieved and viewed in read only mode.

  • ATC BCA Web Data Entry - (Handout) When an Epic downtime occurs, a BCA administrator in HCIS will set BCA Web to Data Entry mode. The Admission & Transfer Center will use the BCA Web application in Data Entry mode to document admission, discharge and transfer events online.
