The Epic system provides functionality to support anesthesia providers and nursing staff when providing procedural care including preprocedure, intraprocedure, and postprocedure.

The following resources provide information on Anesthesia functionality.
- Anesthesia 2021 Spring Upgrade - (Handout) Anesthesia changes will be implemented on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
- ANE Acute Pain Service - (Handout) A new ANE Acute Pain Service login department will give providers and nurses access to a shared Handoff tool. Providers will use the same tool to write block notes on inpatients and OR patients, and charges will be dropped from Consult and Progress notes.
- Anesthesia Bedside External Cephalic Version (ECV) - (Handout) Anesthesia workflows and documentation for bedside external cephalic version (ECV) procedures are explained.

- Anesthesia Central Line Insertion Checklist - (Handout) Before a Central Line Insertion begins in a procedural area, a staff member will document the results of the “timeout” that is performed (in accordance with policy PC-PCI-05.41). Depending on the type of procedure being performed, this documentation may cause an additional group of rows to appear on the flowsheet for staff to complete.
