It is required that Willow Pharmacy staff to complete ALL courses listed under their role in the table below to complete their Training and Epic Security requirements.

Willow Ambulatory Pharmacist

WILLOW AMBULATORY PHARMACIST ICON Prerequisites

Class Length: 2.5 hours

Prerequisites: None

The link to the ICON Prerequisite course is provided to the trainee, once they are registered for a specific Willow Ambulatory Pharmacy Session to attend.

  • Completing this ICON course is required to get Epic Pharmacy access into Epic.
  • Attending the Willow Ambulatory Pharmacy class is required to keep your Epic Pharmacy Access.

Registration: Registration Instructions

Roles: UIHC Ambulatory (Outpatient) Pharmacists and Pharmacy Clinical Specialists.

Content: Willow Ambulatory workflows for order entry, filling, verification of prescriptions, adjudication failures, patient registration, and My Chart requests.

WILLOW AMBULATORY PHARMACY

Class Length: 4 hours

Prerequisites: Willow Ambulatory Pharmacist ICON Prerequisites

  • Attending this class is REQUIRED in order to keep your Epic Willow Pharmacy access.
  • Completing the ICON course is required to in order to attend the Willow Ambulatory Pharmacy class and get Epic Pharmacy access into Epic.

Registration: Registration Instructions

Roles: UIHC Ambulatory (Outpatient) Pharmacists and Pharmacy Clinical Specialists.

Content: Willow Ambulatory workflows for supporting clinicians. Willow Inpatient workflows for reviewing patients' charts in an ambulatory setting, verifying facility administered medication orders, order entry for medications and labs.

Willow Ambulatory Technicians

Willow Inpatient Pharmacist Series

WILLOW INPATIENT PHARMACIST

Class Length: 4 hours

Prerequisites: Willow Inpatient Pharmacist Prerequisite (Online)

Roles: UIHC Acute (Inpatient) Pharmacists and Residents

Content: This course includes basic Epic Hyperspace navigation and common Inpatient Pharmacist workflows. Hyperspace functionality taught include patient lists, pt station, chart review, results review, placing during-visit orders, and In Basket. Willow functionalities taught in class include medication dispensing process, MAR, I-Vents, verification, Order Hx, and printing med labels. These functionalities are taught as part of workflows such as; complex order entry, changing medication orders, entering custom IV fluids, patient-supplied medications, non-formulary medications, and pharmacist monitoring tools.

Willow Inpatient Technicians

WILLOW INPATIENT PHARM TECH

Class Length: 2 hours

Prerequisites: None

Registration: Online     Search for: Willow Inpatient

Roles: Acute Care (Inpatient) Pharmacy Technicians

Content: This course includes basic Epic Hyperspace navigation and common Inpatient Pharmacy Technician workflows. College of Pharmacy

WILLOW PHARMACY STUDENT

Class Length: 3 hours

Prerequisites: None

Content: Intro to Epic, Chart Review, Results Review, Patient Lists, patient reports, updating Medication History, and Notes.

Pharmacy Specialty Area

EPIC WILLOW SPECIALTY PHARMACY

Class Length: 2.5 hours

Prerequisites: Willow Specialty Pharmacy ICON Course

Roles: UIHC Specialty Pharmacy Staff (Pharm Techs, Support Service Specialists, Rev Cycle Representatives, Clinical Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists) 

Content: Workflows for tracking and documenting Specialty Pharmacy Services provided to Specialty Patients.

EPIC BEACON / TREATMENT PLANS (ALL ROLES)

Class Length: 1 hour

Format: Online (Click here to access self-registration.)

Prerequisites:

  • LIPs - LIP Basics + LIP Inpatient and/or LIP Ambulatory
  • RNs - Clinic Nursing Series
  • Pharmacists - Willow Acute or Ambulatory Pharmacists Series

Roles: Clinicians, Nurses, and Pharmacists working with chemotherapy, infusion, or supportive plans for adults.

Content: Placing treatment plans, Infusion Appointment Request scheduling orders, modifying, signing, and releasing treatment plan orders, scheduling related workflows, reviewing treatment plan information from the Schedule/Patient Lists and within the chart.
